Kuta Beach and most of Beaches around Kuta Closed and Off-limits Until Further Notice due to corona virus quarantine.

The district chief of North Kuta, I Putu Eka Parmana, said on Monday, 30 March 2020: “We’ve only closed the access to the beach.

Just the beach is closed, not the main road along the beach. It’s just a few meters from the road to the beach that is closed and guarded by village personnel.”

Tourists are barred from entering the beach. And, while the Balinese derive income and employment from beach visitors, local villagers are accepting the beach closure as necessary to safeguard public health.

I Putu Eka Parmana said: “The beach is closed due to the current unusual situation. We are not concerned with local tax proceeds. What’s important now is how to protect the public’s health and safety.”
