Bajra Sandhi Monument is a Balinese struggle monument located in Renon, Denpasar, Bali. This monument occupies a vast area, there are several football fields around it.
Bajra Sandhi Monument is a Balinese People Struggle Monument to appreciate the heroes as well as a symbol of life preservation seedbed Balinese struggle from generation to generation and from age to age as well as the symbol of the spirit to retain the integrity of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia.
It can be seen from the 17 stairs in the main door, 8 pieces of the great pillars in the building of the monument, and the monument that rises 45 meters. The location of this monument is located in front of the Office of the Goverment of Bali Province is also in front of the Parliament Building Niti Mandala Renon Bali Province exactly in Puputan Renon.
This monument is known as "Bajra Sandhi" because it's shape resembles bajra or bell used by the Rev. The monument was built in 1987, was inaugurated by President Megawati Sukarno Putri on 14 June 2003. The purpose of the construction of this monument is to immortalize the soul and spirit of the struggle of the people of Bali, as well as digging, maintain, develop and preserve Balinese culture to be inherited to the next generation as capital stepped forward tread a world increasingly filled with challenges and obstacles.
